Student Service Clubs, Organizations and Small Living Units

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE CLUB / TREE HOUSE – Work to raise awareness and promote action to help preserve the environment through education, campus recycling, political activism, and other hands-on projects. Join the club and/or apply for a spot in the small living unit.

PET PALS – You can join a student organization dedicated to supporting both the tenants and the philosophy of the Delaware County Humane Society. Activities include everything from fund-raising to hands-on projects at the shelter.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – The campus chapter works with the Delaware County Chapter in the fulfilling, hands-on work of helping to build houses and futures for people who would otherwise never have a home of their own.

STUDENT INITIATIVE FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT - S.I.I.D  You can directly impact the quality of life for a person on the other side of the globe by joining this student organization which empowers others through small business loans. Learn first-hand how micro-credit is virtually changing the face of charitable giving. 

CIRCLE K – Join this friendly, international collegiate version of Kiwanis International and you will be joining a powerful network of civic organizations stretching across the country and around the globe. Circle K emphasizes fellowship, leadership and service.

PROGRESS OWU – A student activist organization that organizes opportunities for students to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in letting their voices be heard on numerous issues ranging from politics to public policy, corporate and social issues. Current projects have included working with the Columbus Open Shelter, the Council for Older Adults of Delaware County, and hunger-awareness education.

INDIA LITERACY PROJECT – The first American undergraduate campus chapter of this non-profit organization which supports and promotes literacy in India.

STAND - Formerly known as "Students Taking Action Now: Darfur", STAND was formed in 2004 in response to the atrocities taking place in Darfur. Currently, STAND's campaigns focus primarily on ending the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan. In addition, they actively encourage members to learn about other conflicts and the larger anti-genocide movement.

LATINO OUTREACH - You can provide tutoring for children and adults who want to learn English as a Second Language, (ESL). You can provide translation services for Parent-Teacher conference night at the nearby elementary and intermediate schools. You can help parents who need personal translators at the annual Holiday Clearing House event. And much more!
